After a lifetime spent abroad, I have finally moved back to England, which makes it difficult to continue posting as An Englishman Abroad. I'll either have to change the name of this blog or move abroad again. I am, as yet, undecided, but as I set out to live in twenty countries and I've still only lived in nineteen, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that I'll venture abroad again.
Hey Ian, welcome back in blogland! (you can cheat, and since you've come back to England, you can make it the 20th country)! How about your book? Have a nice time with your family!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I have already included it in the 19. Happy Easter to you and your family.
DeleteWelcome home! The garden looks beautiful. How long has it been since you lived in England?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the interesting blog- I hope you manage to fulfil your '20'- do the other 'home nations' count? Perhaps a spell in the Highlands or islands of Scotland would fulfil your objectives- geographically, politically, culturally and meteorologically very distinct from 'down south' ;)
ReplyDeleteYou could rename the blog "I was an Englishman abroad." I hope all is going well after a year or so back in your homeland.
ReplyDeleteHi Ian. Good to meet you yesterday at Compton Abbas. You have an interesting blog and you seem to have seen so much of the world, with some great pictures too. I'm intrigued to know what you did for a living to enable you to work in so many countries. Anyway, keep up the walking. Terry (AKA The Dorset Rambler - thedorsetrambler.com)
ReplyDeleteGood to meet you too, Terry. I have just been reading your Dorset Rambler blog. It's very interesting and your photographs are superb.
